Who runs this site
SlowAcorn is operated by an individual developer as a personal, non-commercial project. There is no company, and no data is sold to anyone.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, SlowAcorn uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited, roughly how long, and general device/browser/location information derived from your IP address. This data is anonymized and used only to see which tools are useful and worth improving.
Advertising
SlowAcorn uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalization at aboutads.info.
Tool-specific data
- Voice2Font & MyColor — a short voice recording is uploaded to generate a font or color. The recording is processed in memory and deleted from the server immediately after the result is generated. Nothing is stored permanently, and recordings are never used for any purpose beyond that single request.
- Sports Owner & Touchline — these are choice-based / management games. Your save is written only to your own browser's local storage; nothing about your game, decisions, or squad is sent to or stored on any server.
- InvestPersona (투자 성향 테스트) — the tickers and quantities you enter are sent to the server to compute a risk score and suggestions. The narrative explanation is generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude); the request sent to it does not include any name, email, or account identity — only the portfolio shape (symbols and weights) and language. Generated narratives are cached by that anonymous portfolio shape for a limited time so identical portfolios don't regenerate the same explanation, and are never linked back to who asked.
- MarketDanger — a read-only dashboard. No personal data is submitted; it only displays market and fiscal data already fetched from public sources.
- QueryDojo — the SQL you write is sent to the server to run against a practice data warehouse and return results or a check against the exercise's answer. Query text is not stored or linked to you.
- ETF DNA, Trender, EducateMe, NewsToday, KoreanMetroSeat — these are read-only informational tools. No personal data is submitted; they only display data (market snapshots, trend estimates, daily topics, news headlines, transit schedules) already fetched from public sources.
- SpecialChess — runs entirely in your browser. No game state, moves, or personal data are sent to or stored on any server.
- DoctorLite — your selections (body region, symptom severity, etc.) are sent to the server only to look up general self-care information and are not stored or linked to you in any way.
Cookies
SlowAcorn itself does not set tracking cookies beyond what Google Analytics and Google AdSense set for the purposes described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time; most tools will keep working, though ads and analytics will be affected.
Children's privacy
SlowAcorn is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as tools are added or changed. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
