What is DoctorLite?

DoctorLite is a self-care information tool: click where it hurts on a body diagram (or pick a condition from a list), answer a couple of quick questions about severity and duration, and get back general information — common causes, general self-care measures, and a clear signal for whether the symptom is typically something to monitor at home or worth seeing a doctor about.

Results are drawn from curated general-health content and, where available, MedlinePlus (a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, NIH) — never from your personal medical history, which DoctorLite has no access to.

This tool is for general health education only. It is not a diagnosis, not a substitute for professional medical advice, and not equipped to account for your individual medical history or circumstances. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, or anything urgent, contact a doctor or emergency services directly rather than relying on this tool.
